Natural Resources Canada - CANMET-MMSL / Natural Resources Canada - CIPEC
We provide quality R&D and sound scientific advice to the minerals and metals industry, provincial/territorial governments, universities and other research institutes. The CANMET Mining and Mineral Sciences Laboratories Branch leads two major initiatives: http://www.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/mms-smm/tect-tech/index-eng.htm - Green Mining Initiative (GMI) - Ground Control and Recycling Technology Initiative In the GMI, we aim to improve the mining sector`s environmental performance; promote innovation in mining; and position Canada`s mining sector as the global leader in green mining technologies. The GMI focuses on four research pillars: Footprint reduction, Innovation in Waste Management, Mine Closure and Rehabilitation and Ecosystem Risk Management On the other hand, the Ground Control and Recycling Technology Initiative develops new tools and methods to optimize mining extraction to reduce surface waste disposal, look at the stabilisation of radioactive wastes and will develop recycling technologies and processes to improve lifecycle performance of the mining sector Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC) Natural Resources` Canada (NRCan`s) ecoENERGY for Industry and ecoENERGY Retrofit initiatives are designed to improve industrial energy intensity and reduce energy-related industrial greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air pollution. http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca/industrial/cipec.cfm Ressources naturelles Canada (RNCan) Les Laboratoires des mines et des sciences minerales (LMSM-CANMET) http://www.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/mms-smm/tect-tech/index-fra.htm Nous offrons de la R-D de qualite et des conseils scientifiques judicieux aux industries de l`exploitation miniere et des mineraux ainsi qu`aux ministeres federaux et provinciaux/territoriaux, les universites et autres instituts de recherche.

University of Saskatchewan
Students at the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) have the opportunity to work, study and research alongside world-class faculty in facilities not often found on a university campus. These facilities include the Canadian Light Source synchrotron, the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization and International Vaccine Centre (VIDO-InterVac) and, currently under construction, the Health Sciences project, which will bring together the life, animal and health sciences programs in an innovative interdisciplinary environment to better prepare healthcare professionals for their careers. The U of S also offers a wide variety of programming 58 degrees, diplomas and certificates in over 100 areas of specialization, including engineering, business, agriculture and bioresources, law, public policy and more. Students and faculty are encouraged to work with one another across disciplines, learning and studying in a collaborative environment that leads to discovery, both personal and academic
